The tortoise reserve and an incubator to hatch the babies. They are first kept in wooden trays to keep them safe from rats and bird predators. From 1-5 years old, they are in a small, walled in area where they are fed 3 times a week. Other days they are learning to forage for themselves. At 5 years they move to the large reserve area until they are 15 years old.
This is "Genesis", the first tortoise hatched at the San Cristobal reserve.
